The Groove is a Music and Art festival designed by Latitudes Media & Events and happening between Bangkok, Koh Phangan & Koh Tao.
About the Festival
Starting in Bangkok with the return of the So What?! party at Studio des Stagiaires on April 30, The Groove festival will also end in the City of Angels on May 10 and 11. There will be 2 events in the most iconic underground venues of Big Mango: 12×12 & Never Normal.
For the islands part, on May 4, 5 and 6, we chose to be different than most festivals and to embark party people through a real journey between the most beautiful islands in the Gulf of Thailand: Koh Phangan and Koh Tao, that we will connect on May 5th with a boat party featuring Wonderfruit festival regulars La Mamie’s.

Marina Trench
For French producer and DJ Marina Trench, it will also be the first appearence in Thailand for The Groove festival, where she will headline 2 events, in Koh Tao & Bangkok!
🇫🇷 We are happy to welcome one of the deep house underground’s most intriguing and unmissable musical talents.
Her vibey ‘Trench Touch’ residency at Rex Club Paris, where she invites artists from far across the international scene, as well as her productions on go-to labels including Wolf Music Recordings, Deeply Rooted and Dam Swindle’s Heist Recordings, have definitively put her cultured, elegant and mature sound firmly on the radars.
La mamie's
La Mamie’s is a collective of DJs from Paris, founded in 2007. They have wielded significant influence in shaping Paris’ vibrant music scene, making noteworthy contributions to venues like Le Mellotron, Macki Music Festival, and La Ferme du Bonheur. Their performances span numerous gigs across Paris, including notable venues like La Machine du Moulin Rouge, as well as appearances across Europe and at festivals in Asia such as Wonderfruit in Thailand and co-organizing Shi Fu Miz in Hong Kong. Specializing in various forms of house music, they also embrace genres like reggae, jazz, and drum&bass. Constantly seeking to create the perfect atmosphere, the collective is dedicated to finding spaces where the festive spirit thrives.
Alan.d
DJ and promoter, Alan.D (Paco Tyson, Goûtez Électroniques…) is above all an insatiable music explorer.
Programmer at Rond Point Café in Nantes, France, Alan.D holds a residency: “Rythm” wich has gradually become a hallmark of the House music scene. Behind the decks, he offers a journey into the very essence of House & Techno, influenced by jazz, disco, funk, and the club culture of the early 90s.

The opening of The Groove festival will see the return of the So What?! party on the 3d floor of Café des Stagiaires. So What?! is focused on Jazz-infused groovy House music and offers an always different Art exhibition as an ephemeral decor to the audience.
For this special edition, resident DJs Jazzie C & Skinny Mark invite special guest Alan.D for his first gig ever in Thailand! DJ and promoter, Alan.D (Paco Tyson, Goûtez Électroniques…) is above all an insatiable music explorer. Invited to a Thailand tour by Latitudes Media & Events, he will intervene with different sounds at most of the festival events…

There is hardly any better view on the islands than from Bluerama, where Jazzie C – Le Godfather has delivered some of his most moving sets. On the occasion of his birthday, he has chosen a crazy line-up to start The Groove trip in the islands!

The Groove festival will make party people enjoy not one, but 2 islands! Then what’s best to cross between Phangan and Tao than dance the ride away? For this exceptional and limited-capacity event, The Groove masters will be La Mamie’s, with the support of the always groovy well-know Phanganist Luke July and the one-of-a-kind franco-japanese duo of NK Chan & Jazzie C.
Already famous in Thailand, thanks to their regular praised performances at Wonderfruit festival, French combo La Mamie’s is resident in both Rex Club Paris and La Machine du Moulin Rouge. They are also organizing Macki festival near Paris and co-organizing Shi Fu Miz festival in Hong Kong. They will play around the islands for the first time.

12×12 is what we call a true musical den. Both a bar with a friendly atmosphere and a mini-club with a wicked DJ booth and sound system, it has hosted most of the underground DJ scene in Bangkok. A good part of our line-up is regularly seen behind its decks or on its dancefloor. For Alan.D it will be another first, but for Jazzie C, who holds there his Mixture residency, and for Jacob Bogart , it will be coming back home.
Jacob Bogart was introduced to house and disco in New York City. After moving to Bangkok, Jacob started playing these grooves at bars, clubs and parties all around the city as well as various festivals like Fly To The Moon or B2TG. His unique cool attitude and rare blend of uplifting tracks is now well known among Thailand party people…

The one name that comes in our mind when thinking Underground club in Bangkok is Never Normal. That’s why we already choose the place to host Camion Bazar last October and why we wanted to close this festival in its dark room.
For the first time in Big Mango, Marina Trench will bring her cultured, elegant and mature sound with the mood of her vibey ‘Trench Touch’ residency at Rex Club Paris.
Marina will be supported by the Orbeat crew. Now broadcasted on Bangkok Community Radio, Orbeat was originally a show on Prun’ radio in Nantes, France. Around 15 years ago, that’s where the already well seasoned crew member Jazzie C welcomed a promising DJ of 16/17 years old… The teenager was called Alan.D.
